10:32:51 AM [Visitor] ok where is the positions posting???? and do you have any other ideals of where to start or if they are even hiring?
10:36:47 AM [Kevin Holt and Sheila Roth] Here are the postings. This link gives the information you want. http://www.hamiltoncountyohio.gov/hr/JobOpeningsList.asp

10:29:59 AM [Lyndon Reggio] Thanks again and I wish you much success in your efforts to help those that you can. Good day.

10:34:51 AM [Kevin Holt and Sheila Roth] You're welcome. We're glad we could help you -- and look forward to serving many others.

10:31:13 AM [Craig] I am an experienced professional who lost his job in January as an insurance claims adjuster. I have applied for every similar job posting since, networked my connections within those companies and externally, met several times with a career coach, and done everything including offerings home roasted coffee at the interviews. I have made it to the final interview five different times only to be told I am overqualified or that an internal candidate was selected. I am not giving up! My question for advice is how do I sell my strong experience, passion, and education and not eliminate the opportunity at hand?
10:33:48 AM [Kevin Holt and Sheila Roth] If you are being told that you are over-qualified, you may be giving too much information about yourself. Try limiting your resume and your remarks in the interview to the skills you have that match the skills they need. Don't elaborate too much on skills over and above what they need.

10:29:11 AM [Visitor] I am a recent college graduate I have a ass in science degree and am going on to get my ba in social work but i need a job now and would like to get my foot in the door i was told a case manager or food stamp worker might be the way to go how can i get in?
10:31:18 AM [Kevin Holt and Sheila Roth] Certainly feel free to apply. Job criteria are on the position's posting.

10:28:45 AM [Lyndon Reggio] Thanks much for your help! I do appreciate it! Oh, will bringing a laptop to Orientation be of any benefit, or just leave it at home?

10:29:17 AM [Kevin Holt and Sheila Roth] Please leave your laptop at home. No need for it at this time.

10:26:20 AM [Lyndon Reggio] I'm clear on the difference. Thanks. Great! My next steps in addition to attending Super Jobs Orientation & Coach Assignment next Monday, at 9:00AM, at your offices at 1916 Central Parkway,(do I need to call 513-731-9800 in advance for reservations or more details, or just show up?), will be to look into "https://ohiomeansjobs.com/omj/", and Hyde Park JSFG when I can fit it in next.
10:27:32 AM [Kevin Holt and Sheila Roth] No reservation is required. Sounds like you're on the right track!

10:23:45 AM [Visitor] I have a degree in business and I am certified in microsoft, should I apply?
10:24:26 AM [Kevin Holt and Sheila Roth] Yes. Please apply.

10:21:17 AM [Visitor] After all the lawoffs hamilton county is hiring?
10:22:39 AM [Kevin Holt and Sheila Roth] Hamilton County JFS is hiring a very few, very select number of positions that are required to maintain the most basic of State and Federal mandates. We do expect to continue to experience layoffs for the foreseeable future.

10:15:30 AM [Lyndon Reggio] Super Jobs, then, is part of your group, and the Orientation at 9:00 AM, next Monday, would be at your offices at 1916 Central Parkway, correct?
10:19:35 AM [Kevin Holt and Sheila Roth] Super Jobs is the organization that Hamilton County and the City of Cincinnati have collaborated with to offer one-stop job center services and to manage local Workforce Investment Act funds. Just to be clear, Super Jobs is at 1916 Central Parkway and the Hamilton County Department of Job and Family Services is at 222 E. Central Parkway.

10:11:19 AM [Lyndon Reggio] Oh! Does is follow, then, that I will head down to your offices at 1916 Central Parkway? What are my steps in doing so? I haven't heard of Super Jobs. I'll have to look into that also. Is "https://ohiomeansjobs.com/omj/" part of the SCOTI, or something like it? I've been associated with group, and try as they may, I found it to be somewhat remedial, unfocused, a random in their approach.
10:13:13 AM [Kevin Holt and Sheila Roth] You should head to Super Jobs to attend an orientation at 9 a.m. Monday. You will be assigned a career coach at the conclusion of the orientation. https://ohiomeansjobs.com/omj/ is not the same thing as Scoti, but they are job-matching databases used by the State of Ohio.

10:03:26 AM [T. Gibbs] Thank you. I am a Welder by trade do you know if their are any jobs for the Banks Project?
10:06:41 AM [Kevin Holt and Sheila Roth] You can call 731-9800 for more information. The bulk of the Banks jobs are being filled by construction firms under contract to build The Banks.

10:05:07 AM [Lyndon Reggio] I have contacted JSFG and will be attending their 8:00AM Orientation class next Monday. I'll look into "https://ohiomeansjobs.com/omj/". How does one even start looking for a "career coach"? GOOGLE? Is 513-731-9800 the number you have for JSFG? The one I have is (513) 871-0320.

10:06:41 AM [Kevin Holt and Sheila Roth] The 731-9800 is for Super Jobs. You don't have to look for a career coach. We will assign you one in our office at 1916 Central Parkway (the old unemployment office near Findlay Market).

10:02:54 AM [Visitor] So what do you do sign up for services downtown and they help you get a job or what is the process
10:04:54 AM [Kevin Holt and Sheila Roth] At the Super Jobs Center, 1916 Central Parkway, the first step is an orientation on Mondays at 9 a.m. There are career coaches that could work with you one-on-one in your job search.

10:01:23 AM [T. Gibbs] I am seeking information about a reentry program for ex prisoners
10:02:34 AM [Kevin Holt and Sheila Roth] Call the Community Action Agency for information about a program they offer. Here's a link to their Web site: http://www.cincy-caa.org/

9:54:45 AM [Lyndon Reggio] I'm 62, college educated, and can't find meaningful employment. I have primarily been a consultative business to business sales professional, and so I look generally in that diertion,as well as inside sales. I do persist, with Monster.com and CareerBuilder.com. My networking base is small, so not much can come from it. What other sugestions might you have?
9:56:10 AM [Lyndon Reggio] I'm prior military, Officer (O-3) in US Coast Guard, 1970-1975.
9:59:48 AM [Kevin Holt and Sheila Roth] Try to get involved in a job club. You might want to check out the Hyde Park Job Search Focus Group. This is a good networking forum for you. You also want to regularly check https://ohiomeansjobs.com/omj/ You could also try getting connected to a career coach. The first step will be attending an orientation. Call 513-731-9800 for more details.

9:53:28 AM [T. Gibbs] I am seeking employment. I was told that there is a list of jobs for people re-entering the workforce from prision.
9:55:47 AM [Kevin Holt and Sheila Roth] It might be helpful to get connected to a career coach at the Super Jobs Center. The first step will be attending an orientation. Please call 513-731-9800 for details. All of our job listings are on https://ohiomeansjobs.com/omj/

9:45:09 AM [Lyndon Reggi] Initially I wanted to learn what the services offered are. Then I might have some follow up inquiries
